Hello Derek, I just by chance came across your happy smile on the internet. It saddens me a great deal that you're no longer in the world and that I did not know this. I will always remember you as happy and joking. You saw the positive in every situation. I will also remember you for being so full of life and how people would remark on how resourceful you were. You took many tasks in your stride that a person half your age might struggle with. When I met you treated me like an old friend. I hope you don't mind Derek, but I would like to always consider us friends. I'm sorry I didn't get to see you in the months before you passed. I hope wherever you are you're laughing and joking.
